RokFeature is a sophisticated content slider/rotator. You can scroll through the various articles viewing both a large image with its accompanying text. Hidden panels allow you to showcase both lengthy text items as well as the large image to use your real estate for optimum impact.

There are 3 parts to the RokFeature content item, the thumb, the main image and your content. The thumbnail appears in the hidden panel to the left of the module. The main image is the large graphic that you see spanning across across the entire module and the content is also displayed in the hidden panel.

All posts displayed in the RokFeature section have to be assigned to the “Feature” category. If there’s more than 3 posts in that category, posts will be displayed randomly.

Adding Images & Description

To add thumbnail to the hidden panel :

• Enter into edit mode of post to which you’d like to add your thumbnail
• In the section “Custom Fields” from the dropdown menu please choose “thumb” – if it doesn’t exist you have to press “Enter new” to create it
• In the field “Value” next to “thumb” please enter URL to your thumbnail ie. http://www.yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/thumb.jpg

Best size for thumbnails is 72px x 66px

To add main image (large)

• In the same post you earlier added thumbnail (step above) please add a new Custom Field
• In the section “Custom Fields” from the dropdown menu please choose “large” – if it doesn’t exist you have to press “Enter new” to create it
• In the field “Value” next to “large” please enter URL to your thumbnail ie. http://www.yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/large.jpg

Best size for main image is 568px x 285px

To add description to the hidden panel

• In the same post as above please go to the “Excerpt” section
• In the “Excerpt” field, please add the text you wish to appear next to thumbnail

Removing RokFeature

• Just go to the Mixxmag Settings page in admin dashboard and next to the Feature Category → choose None
• Alternatively to remove the Feature section please unassign all posts from category you assigned for your Feature posts. If Wordpress detects no posts in that category it will automatically hide that section.

Changing RokFeature assigned category

If you haven’t installed our sample content you can easily enable RokFeature by changing its assigned category :-

• Login into the WordPress administrator dashboard (http://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/)
• In the left menu sidebar, go to Posts → Categories and create a new category for your RokFeature posts
• Assign your posts to this category
• In the left menu sidebar, go to Appearance → Mixxmag Settings
• Change the category next to the field “Feature Category” to your newly created category
